Historic Interview with the late DINO DE LAURENTIIS


The legendary and prolific film producer Dino De Laurentiis passed away yesterday at age 91. The obit in the NY Times is a full half a page! My 1976 interview with him encapsulates much of his philosophy as a producer and also discusses one of his most expensive films, the remake of King Kong—including clips.

Sinatra Lives!



Here I am at the publishing party for Jim Kaplan's book Frank: The Voice at the Russian Samovar rstaurant in NY—former location of Jilly's. Jim interviewed me for this book and the planned second volume. Referencing my one hour interview with Sinatra and my subsequent relationship with him."

TV NEWS:
On Wednesday, September 15th, I will be interviewing "Queen of
Swing," Norma Miller" at Harlem's historic Lennox Lounge. Norma is
recognized as the greatest living swing dancer and a pioneer of that
dance form. She is the subject of a brilliant new documentary "Queen
of Swing," by the acclaimed director, John Biffar. The interview is
for the national PBS show MY GENERATION, for which I am correspondent.

In addition to her work as a dancer, Norma played a key role in
helping to break down barriers facing black performers alongside her
contemporaries Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong and Sammy Davis, Jr.

Bound to Please



What a wild night it was when shock jock Howard Stern appeared on my syndicated show, COMEDY TONIGHT. Thanks to Howard I wound up bound and gagged in bondage gear on the air.
